the sun went down about 20 minutes ago. right now they've got the navy band that is on. and we're looking for the president. the president is on his own time. he's supposed to be here a little bit earlier and light the tree at 5:07. look up toward the white house now. you can actually see the motorcade right in front of the white house is still there. so the president and first lady, the first family not quite here yet. of course, they will be turning on the christmas tree when they get down here a little bit later. we're live in front of the white house on the ellipse. we're going to continue to be here through the rest of the evening. this is by far one of my favorite events of the year. this is now my third year down here. year number one was freezing cold. year number two was really cold. here we are at year number three, and it's just cold, and that's not bad. temperatures in the last couple of days in the 70s. on monday and tuesday. so right now, temperatures in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees, not bad out here right now. we're still waiting to see exactly what
